The story of this album is both a dream and a reality.
It’s a personal journey in time and space at a significant era, that of The Minoans, which remained in history as the Pinnacle of Prosperity.
Through the prism of my imagination, forging a bridge between the past and the present, I created sound landscapes to relax the listener and to reflect on the concerns of our time. Inspired by the signs of a culture that shows a close relationship between nature and society, a sense of joy for life emerges from the surviving works of art they created.
A typical example of Minoan architecture was the construction of mazes.
The Cretan Maze (Labyrinth) is associated with a complex of myth, symbol and allegory. It is a symbol of the path of human life. The passage to the centre of the maze and the return to its periphery is a journey to the centre of our existence, a metaphor for the journey of life and ultimately to the understanding of who we are.
The Minoans (Greek: Μυκηναίοι; Μινωίτες) were a pre-Hellenic Bronze Age civilization in Crete in the Aegean Sea, flourishing from approximately 2700 to 1450 B.C.E. Based on depictions in Minoan art, Minoan culture is often characterized as a matrilineal society centred on goddess worship.
The Minoans were one of the earliest cultures to paint natural landscapes without any humans present in the scene; such was their admiration of nature. Animals, too, were often depicted in their natural habitat, for example, monkeys, birds, dolphins, and fish.
Regarding the aesthetic aspect of the character of Minoan art, the vitality, grace and the absolute harmonization with nature are recorded, elements that are attributed to the temperament of the Minoans and the way they perceived the environment.
While historians and archaeologists have long been sceptical of an outright matriarchy, the predominance of female figures in authoritative roles over male ones seems to indicate that Minoan society was matriarchal, and among the most well-supported examples known.
